Phoenix Technical Services, Inc. was formed in 1994 by Lane Smith and Debra Allen.
Leaving a background in communications, Mr. Smith took a job in 1980 with Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. After working four years as a biomedical technician, he left the hospital for a service manager position with Clinical Electronics, a nuclear medicine and radiological device service company. During his employ Mr. Smith noted that overall service in many rural healthcare facilities was largely ignored. Most medical care providers in these rural markets were at the mercy of the equipment manufacturers and their elevated pricing for service. Seeking to expand service offerings beyond the constraints of his employer, Mr. Smith started his own company, Phoenix Technical Services. He enlisted the aid of Debra Allen as business manager and partner. Ms. Allen previously had been the office manager for Clinical Electronics and was intimately familiar with the business of healthcare and equipment service. Twelve years later Phoenix Technical Services is going strong. We have recently added Anthony Montgomery to our partnership. Mr. Montgomery has almost two decades of biomedical experience. As former assistant director of biomedical services for University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson MS Anthony brings with him a wealth of experience . Phoenix Technical Services will continue to hire the best in the industry and strive to provide high quality, low cost services to the southeast and beyond.
